C220 Power Steering Noise

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. My C220 has been making this sometimes high, sometimes low pitch humming sound whenever I turn the steering wheel whether the car is stopped or moving.

I don't know if its the pump or old fluid, or ???

Sometimes, the power steering momentarily goes away especially when I let off the gas like when turning or going from reverse to forward but is not bothersome.

Otherwise, the car is great. Any thoughts on this? thanks

Higher sound is usually belt slipping. Low sound is usually low fluid level. I had the low sound on my 98 and had to add fluid until just above the full mark to make the sound stop.

When Revving

I did keep a closer ear today and noticed that sound goes higher when I rev it up. Hope it just low fluid. I know its not slipping. Slipping is a squeel.

Low fluid

I did check the level and it wasnt showing on the dip stick so apparently its low. Just filled it and will test drive cuz I gotta go to the dealer anyway to pick up a part (bj boot).

300d

Sorry, Ethan.... I was picking up part for my 300D (see my signature below). THe noise did go away. So, it was the low fluid level. Don't kknow why I did not pick up on that before.
