more 300TE Weirdness - noise from rear when OFF
When troubleshooting my blower problems, I had the key out of the ignition and heard a noise like the fuel pump in the tank coming on for a few seconds and then off. It sounds like its near the rear passenger wheel.
Would this be normal? I've had this car for 2 years and never heard it before. ? possibly related to the lack of control voltage on my blower ? Advice from an expert is appreciated. Thanks -red

The radio antenna motor is located there, probably just the mast running up and down as the switch the key on and off.

thanks I wish it were that simple, but this is with the key off and not in the ignition, happens every 15 minutes or so. I think I would notice the antenna going up and down.

thanks, it is a similar sound and I don't recall hearing it with the tailgate closed. I'll tiptoe around the garage tomorrow and see what i hear ( or don"t )
How would I adjust this ? is there a FAQ? Thanks -red

Betcha it's the vacuum pump for the central locking system. You have a leak somewhere in the system, causing the pump to run periodically to maintain a vacuum. Need to fix it, as the leak worsens the pump will run so much it will burn out.
