380SL Wiper Help
I know this probably sounds really stupid...but, I recently purchased an '82 380SL. The previous owner replaced the wiper blades with a pair of black Ancos. I'd like to install silver blades as close as possible to the originals. I see left wipers and right wipers. Left in stock, sold individually (around $24 ea.). Right, out of stock, sold in pairs (out of stock, no price). And I've see a pair (about $73). All are 19". What's the difference between the right and the left? Can I use 2 lefts? (About a $25 savings.) All Bosch. Web sites say all will fit my car!

Well, It all depends. My dad had a 450SLC, which is basically the same car with a fixed (non-removable) roof. Anyway, we always used Trico blades, and they used the same part number for both sides. When I got a set of Bosch blades for my 86 560SEL, they were the same part number for both sides. However, the Bosch blades were black and looked just like Trico's, so unless the ones you are getting are different (which is highly possible, Bosch typically has at least 2 variations of everything ) you may end up with similar looking blades. If you are a real Original Equipment Traditionalist then you might see if you could find a set of OE style on a salvage SL of the same era, and then putting American Aftermarket Refills in the blades. Just a thought. Thanks, Dave.
