W202 Dash Lighting

W202 Dash Lighting

The LCD displays on my recent acquisition '97 C230 seem very dim (almost impossible to read after dark). My service tech says, "They all are like that." I was wondering if that were true.
If not, is there an accessible "bulb" that might be burnt out? If so, how do I get to it?
