intermitent window lifts on 1984 190e
Can't seem to figure out why the windows work one day and not the next! It's not just one but all of them. fuses seem fine. Nothing in my manual on power windows.
We are making progress with this car of 2 weeks, though. New exhaust today. That was actually a breeze. Fixed turn signal. Fixed hydrolic line to clutch. Tightened up the parking brake today too. My daughter and I are having fun and shes learning. (Along with Dad.) |

Quite often, especially on the 190s for some reason, you will develop cracks in the wires inside the corrugated tubes (conduits)in the door hinge area, especially bad with the rears, but fronts do it too. This may or may not cause the window fuses to blow. Remember the left front and right rear are on a common fuse, as are the right front and left rear. It's a pain to fix it right, have to get into the wires in the door pillars and remove the door panel and replace the whole section that runs through the conduits.

windows
agree with gilly on 190 series,9 times out of ten problem is in hinges of rear doors.next time they won't work try opening the affected door and moving it as someone else operates the switch.
