Code Help 97 S500

I am hoping someone can help this newbie out. I purchased a 97 S500 two days ago and I figured I would give her a tune up and fluid change. After changing the oil, filter, and spark plugs and cleaned the engine bay with water, being careful to cover the MAS intake. I took her for a drive and after 35 miles the "Check Engine" light came on and she started to miss and sputter. It won't go above 4300 RPM's. I took it to the autostore and they retrieved the following codes P0300, P0304 and P1519
I then came home and change plug number 4 - No luck, still runs the same. Could it be the MAS?

Thanks
Kevin

Try switching the coil to another place & see if the code moves as well..

The P1 519 is suggesting a problem with the adjustable cam timing solenoids OR gears.

Hello Kevin

Your issue was caused when you cleaned the engine bay with water.
Generally one of the weather pack terminals is missing a seal, allowing water to enter and short the terminals.

If you are very lucky, you will find which one, clean and dry it, and the issue will be gone.
However, electrical circuits do not like shorts, there may be secondary damage.

Here is another possible issue:
MB Wiring Harness Failure

Smile

I switched the coil 4 with coil 1, cleared codes and it now reads P0301 which is a misfire in #1 cyl. I have ordered a new coil from our host. I hope to get it tomorrow. I will keep everyone updated. Thanks for all your help, I believe I'm on the right track now.

Thanks again
Kevin
