electrical.....HELP....
Trying to set dwell for points , coil checks out ok , but when I attach leads (per instructions) red to (- ) coil term and black to ground.
I get no readings, but if I put red lead to (+) term on coil and black to ground I can check RPM'S but I can't dial in the dwell ...... What am I missing? Ken |

Maybe wires on your coil are reversed. It will run either way. If you get RPM then that is the wire for dwell
Thanks Rich

The engine will run with the coil hooked up in reverse, but the additional impulse from the secondary coil (which hooks to the tower and the + terminal) may confuse the dwell meter. I've never tried running a coil reversed, so I don't know. But you should fix that.
