C280 Ignition Switch Won't Start

I just replaced my ignition tumbler and steering column lock assembly and all works well, including all lights. When I try to start the car it won't fire and starter kicks out after 2 seconds of turning the motor over. Is there a reset that needs to be done? Its a 1997 C280. 95K

Problem found. Locking and unlocking the door lock with the key apparently reset the system. suspect it has something to do with the alarm system and ignition lockout.
