My kids spilled something on the wood center console of my 93 500sl that marred the finish. Being the anal retentive type, I need to remove it so it can be refinished. The dealer wants to charge $200. It can't be THAT difficult. Anyone who knows the secret location of the screws and/or clips holding it in, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help.

You have to remove the radio, ash tray inside and center ring. Next take out the screws. There are clips in the rear that you will have to push to get out.

Good luck.
