Smile thinkin about replacing my 124(4.2l) with a e55(1999-2002)

Hi everyone,

I have read/used alot of useful tips from this forum and I thank everyone for that.

Now, I'm thinkin of movin up to something a little more sofisticated.

I thinking of getting into the E55....used of course. Now I havent read up on some of the sage advice on these cars yet so ill ask as well as look further into their durability, quirks, etc.

if anybody has had any driving or maintence issues of this model please feel free to expound in my inquire.

my E400 is still a good vehicle...but with alot of good deals moving on E55's I'm just lookin for some more power and comfort.

thanks

The only advice I can offer is.......go & price out some parts.
Even just maintenance items, brakes, etc.
Might make you head spin.
Some time ago I was tempted to buy a C 43, until I checked some of the parts prices.
That was the end of that idea.

AMG specific parts like brakes cost a bunble, but they are fun to drive. Depends what you want.

Did I mention they are fast?

I replaced my 92 400e with a 2001 e55. the 400 had 170,000 miles and was a great car. The 55 was a great choice for me. Much faster, rides better, many more features. I purchased the 55 with 68,000 miles 8 months ago and love it. Have had no issues with the car.

Not stock, but impresive nonetheless.

Have been thinking the same thing but would hate to part with any of the cars I have and just don't have room for another.
