Question 1990 420sel fuel system

Hi gang just-n-time here, still working on our 420,vacuum system is looking pretty good now,on to some fuel system check ups,After going for a ride to wards town,I took the car through some stop and go driving and to my dismay,It stalled,I got out unplugged the EHA drove a short distance and it stalled again, restart and plug up the EHA and to my surprise it kept running, on to the ox wire unplugged it and drove for a little longer but another stall.
Drove home it stalled several more times on the way,but I noticed I could here the pumps run after the stall switch off and restart,no hesitation to restart at all,My thought is how to check the pumps and has any one built a gauge to check the pressure and how do I go about checking the pressure regulator and related systems.
Help on this as always would be greatly appreciated,j-n-t
