My sister got a letter over the weekend from Dianler-Benz citing a recall on 2005 & 2006 C-Class. She has a 2006 C240. It states that an internal engine part has shown to be defective in some C-Class so they are repairing all 2005 & 2006 vehicles. Car goes to dealer tomorrow and she gets free loaner. Anyone know about this low-key recall??

I couldnt find any current recalls, only a service campaign.

CHECK ENGINE CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE VERSION AND UPDATE IF
NECESSARY (272 ENGINE)
This Service Campaign has been initiated because DCAG has determined that on the affected vehicles
(see VIN range on the following page) the software for the engine control unit needs to be upgraded to
correct a potential malfunction which could lead to an incorrect fuel/air mixture at low ambient
temperatures. Under certain conditions, this can have a negative effect on starting the engine.
Please review the Effective Serial Number chart located on the following page.
Attached is a sample copy of a letter which owners of the affected vehicles will receive.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
• Please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously
repaired.
• Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin.
Approximately 62,775 vehicles are affected.
