I have this problem with my 1997 C36 AMG.

If i leave my car, say in the garage overnight, for a long duration of time, my "bunrt out light" indicator turns on the dash.

I get out of my car to check and low and behold the right light is out. I opened the trunk to replace it and boom..it's back on again.

This keeps happened everytime I leave the car idle for a period of time. Once I pop the trunk open the light turn back on.

Any ideas?

Rocky,
Maybe the bulbs that light up the license plate are loose or the connection is bad. I say this because those lights are on the trunk, and maybe you opening the trunk, somehow disconnects their circuit. Try replacing those first, and maybe the fuse to the license plate lights, even if it isn't blown. Good luck!

The taillight bulb is worn or has a loose contact. Exchange the bulb and take a close look at the contacts. Changing the bulb probably solves the "problem".

greetingz,

It's one of the lights that are in the tail light. not the license plate frame. I'l try replacing it.

It's just annoying to jump in the car, start it..run out , open the trunk and close it just to get it to work hehe

Thanx guys
