300CE cutting out

Hi guys,

My dad has just obtained a 91 300CE with a M103. It has developed an intermittant problem. When hot it would not restart - like no spark or starvation of fuel. When it did start it was idling at about 400RPM and missing -went "bluuughhh" and cut out when accelerator touched. Left 10 minutes and started fine.

20 Minutes later it was restarted fine but cut out after about 2 minutes of running. Restarted fine.

I found moistre in the HV plug in the top of the coil. And also the distributor had moistre in it - corroded terminals also inside. I have cleaned this up but havent had a chance to road test.

I looked at the OVP but it looks new. Any way of telling? Although I dont think this is related as there was no ABS light, and I cant duplicate by knocking the OVP.

I also considered the fuel pump relay.

Any opininions or advice on this?
