95 e320 Dome light and seat adjustment not working when drivers door open.
I shorted out the "Puddle light" on the bottom of the driver's door. Please, don't ask. Now, the driver's power seat, puddle lamp, and the dome light do not function when the drivers side door is open. They will work when the passenger-side door is open. The power driver's seat will function once the ignition switch is turned on. The seat belt warning buzzer functions correctly.
I replaced the eight-pin seat belt warning module, #004 545 07 32, with a new one and there is no change. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. |

The door contact sends ground signal thru the warning buzzer & then to the dome lamp.. also that signal goes to the seat relay to allow the seats to work.
Suggest locking at the printed circuit on the old warning buzzer for a burnt spot..

I agree, that is exactly what happened on my 86 300sdl. The circuit board actually burned right there. I ended up soldering a small jumper wire in the relay to take the place of the circuit that had a burned spot. Learned this trick from my GE service engineer when he works on the circuit boards in my MRI scanner. He has done this quite a few times to get us running again while we wait for the new board to be shipped in. I soldered this jumper wire in two years ago and it is still working fine.
