adding ABS to 126

I have a grey market 1982 500SEL. I would like to convert the brakes to ABS. I know it is not cost effective but if I take my time getting the parts used it might not be so bad. What parts do I need to convert to ABS brakes? Do they need to be the european parts or will later US W126 parts work on the euro model?

It will cost more than the car is worth.

This is kind of like the question about converting your car to awd. (subaru)
Could you do it? Yes.
Would it be worth it? No.

Thumbs up

ABS is VERY complex, hit up a parts yard and have a look at one. ABS isn't bad not to have in a car.

ABS = for people who don't know how to drive ( or threshold-brake to be exact ).
Wouldn't give you 2 cents for it, if my car didn't have it.

There are many issues making conversion very complex, abs sensors in both front spindles, the abs sensor in the differential, wiring harnesses, hubs with sensor wheels, additional brake piping. Maybe if you found a rusted out and basically worthless W126 with ABS you could replace the brake system and have spare parts too.
