92 190E gas guage going wacky?

My gas guage sometimes fluctuates? Could it be the fuel sending unit?

Get into the trunk and clean the contacts on the fuel sending unit, if you're lucky it might solve the problem. More likely, the sending unit will need to be replaced, but it's an easy DIY to remove and replace. Just need an adjustable wrench to loosen the sender.
