My mothers 92 350 sd was smoking for sometime until it decided to puke oil out the exhaust. I figured the turbo charger bearings where bad, so I pulled it, sent it off, and reinstalled the rebuilt unit. Same problem going on.
I was given some good advice by a guy in the deisel forum, but perhaps some others here have experienced this too. I just want to get a consensus before breaking this engine apart.........ps...was I supposed to prime the turbo charger before installation?
Thanks for all advice in advance..

You are supposed to pour oil into the "oil inlet" port on the turbo (after you have connected the bottom return line) prior to starting.

I have seen one other 603 do this at our shop. It had a broken piston. Sorry for the bad news, but the head will have to come off at least.

Good luck.
