found a little old lady car...a 1987 560sel with 145000 miles on it and straight
only issue is front brakes....the car is priced 1900.00 is this too good to be true? i have never driven a gas mercedes as i own a diesel...any thoughts on the 560 engine??? lyle |

Either
1) They're looking to get rid of it fast 2) It hasn't been driven and/or has other issues. I'd still do it - for under $2k, if it had nice paint and 0 rust, and ran, I don't think I'd care about minor stuff like brakes. Probably needs a chain and rails ASAP, though.

Sounds good
I have had a 560SEL for the last 2 years. I haven't had a problem at all with it until last week. I had to soldier a relay to get the ABS brakes and normal idle working. There is alot of things that can go wrong with these cars. I would have someone look at it first unless you just plan on running it without any maintenance til it has major problems...
