CLK430 Heat & Rear Headrest

I just found mercedesshop.com, nice job.

Now the problem, the passenger rear headrest will not go down?

Now the big problem, when I run the ac or heat, there's a loud ticking/knocking noise under the hood. The noise quits when I turn off ac or heat. The heat works fine, but the ac only works when the car is moving.

I've searched the site, any sugguestions?

Curiously viewing this thread because I want to monitor impending repair issues with mine.

Can't say what's up with the headrest, but the loud ticking sounds like a worn A/C compressor clutch. Noisy when engaged, and probably slipping a bit (since your A/C doesn't get full charge untill your engine is under a load)...

...just my guess.

My problem is I have to go 100 miles to Memphis to have someone look at it, no one in this small town will even take a guess since it's a Benz.
Thanks.

Just noticed where you hail from...

I came to Oxford a few years ago...was involved with alpha testing FedEx's new handheld device for couriers (first station in the US to get one). Passed a kidney stone during my stay as well (your critical care center ranks up there with major municipalities).

Other than the Walmart, don't remember seeing much there that would accomodate an MB...
