1980 300TD Wiper Home position

On my 1980 300TD Euro, the home position of the wipers is 4 - 6 inches above the lowest travel point. While the wipers are running, they cycle properly. In the intermittent mode. The wipers cycle to the high point, and return to the position 4 - 6 inches and pause. With the intermittent cycle restarts, the first movement is to the bottom of the windshield, then up and returning to the position 4 - 6 inches above the windshield.

If the the wipers are runing, weather in low speed or highe speed, they work properly, but when turned off, park at the position 4 - 6 inches above the lowest travel point.

Is there a way to adjust this 'home' position?
