Today while changing the t-stat, I noticed a banjo fitting on the front cover. This fitting had a hard plastic line coming off it (which was broken about 1 inch above the fitting). This line goes up and over the water pump, weaves behind the distributer and power steering reservoir eventually drops down and goes into the front sub chasis. It comes out and merges with the fuel lines under the driver's seat.

What is it? Something to do with crankcase ventilation?

Not having access to any hard line, I used a section of fuel line, placed that on the banjo fitting and slipped the end of the hard line into the fuel line. This should hold until I can lay my hands on some of that line (nothing is so permanent as a temporary fix ).
