The sunroof on my 1987 190E 2.6 opens fine, but when I try to close it, the wind deflector (the grey thing on the leading edge of the sunroof) doesn't automatically lower. The sunroof just hits it. I have to use some pretty fine hand eye coordination to hold it down and move my finger just in time so I don't get my finger caught. Does it sound like somethign needs to be lbed or replaced? TIA

Try pushing down on the stainless steel "ramps" on each side of the deflector, see if the deflector is reacting to pushing down. There are a few possibilities. If the deflector doesn't respond to the push-test, either the deflector or the ramps are broken. Gets pretty involved explaining how to replace the deflector. If the deflector responds to the push-test, either the deflector needs adjustment (if when closing the roof the deflector closes a little, but not enough, it's probably in need of adjustment)OR the part on the roof that pushed on the ramps are broken or worn out......Gilly
