Id'ing hardened 103 cam from older cam?

Hi all,
I've got an '87 300e with the original soft (worn to nubbs) camshaft. MB and the parts suppliers only sell the later, harder camshaft. This cam also requires different rocker arms.

I just purchased a cam and rockers from a used parts supplier and what showed up appears exactly as my old cam down to the 22 stamped on the sprocket flange. If I understand correctly the hardened cam should have the numbers 49, 50, 56 or a 57 stamped on the sprocket flange and the rockers should have a "noticible" pad welded to the face that rides on the cam.

Can anyone confirm or deny my info???

Thanks!
