93 400E(124) washer fluid leak.
This car has two wiper pumps that slide into the washer fluid tank. Each has a rubber grommet that I also replaced. I tried sealing with silicone bathroom caulk. Just can't seal the leak. Any ideas?
How does the cover of the rear center brake light come out? I see the tabs on either side but the thig just won't budge. Thanks |

So either the grommet(s) is not inserted correctly, or maybe there is a crack in the tank.
New tanks are cheap, and only moderately difficult to R&R. Steve |

If it's like my '97 E series...
you need to pull the tabs on each side out simultaneously and pull back on the housing. I made a couple of L-shaped hooks from heavy paper clips to pull the tabs out.

Don't be like me and break the plastic into a puzzle of pieces on your brakelight cover. Mine was so brittle from the sun that the plastic broke with the slightest pressure on it.
