1991 420 SEL getting an 88 560 motor. connect ASR?

I just purchased a 1991 420 SEL with a great body and interior and new transmission. The engine had a timing chain mishap so I am having a rebuilt 560 motor installed. The car has ASR. What is the best course of action to take. Will the ASR work with the 88 motor? Should it be disconnected? How? I am missing the console ASR switch. I assume I need it for the ASR to work(?).
Thanks in advance for your help.

ASR (anti slip regulator) is a warning light, there is no switch for that, there are several areas that you might want to check on, but first get a fault code reading then furnish us with full data on your problem.
