Help With Installing "UNIVERSAL" Vacuum Pump W140

1992 400SE.

I recieved my new BOSH OEM vacuum pump.

While ordering it, there was this blurb on what additional parts were needed: "Up to chassis number A-216190, requires (2) 210 800 02 22 vacuum coupling, (2) 210 800 04 22 vacuum coupling, (1) 000 987 11 45 plug and (1) 007 997 61 82 vacuum hose. For vehicles with electric headrests, (2) 124 805 02 44 vacuum plug is required. For vehicles without reversing aid, (1) 210 800 00 53 cap is required."

So after buying all the special order vacuum couplings, plugs, and hose, (except for the reversing aid cap), I can't figure out where and how to connect each vauum line.

Currently I have 15 hoses connected to the original pump which had a nice adapter, unfortunatly it is incompatible with the new pump.

Currently:
6 Yellow connect to ZV
2 Red connect to RH
1 Black to SFG
2 White/Blue to FKS
1 Clear to PU
3 Grey to PU (with 2 dots over the U)

The 2 vacuum couplings I bought are 3-ways, and the other 2 vacuum couplings are also 3-way (just different style), remaining I have 3 plugs and vacuum hose.

How do I accomodate the 6 hoses to ZV and 3 to PU (with 2 dots over the U) to fit the new pump?

Any ideas, diagrams, or previous experience would be apprechiated. Thanks.

You need a six way distributor, remove ends from six yellow lines and attach to connector, output of connector is connected to the socket via a 12' piece of tubing and slide on the CV port
The two red hoses will be treated the same way with a "two way"another pice of tubing and a "socket" to RH
The black line (RTG) with another socket to SFG
The clear line (MVA) with another socket to P- or Pu
Vehicles without RHR can cap FKS otherwise the white lines to a "two way" and onto FKS
Orthopedic will need another six way and the three go to that, and the remaining ports are capped, another 12" and a socket P+
The six ways are pushed over the studs.
You need one or two "six ways" 210 800 03 22, (one) since you have a three way (not shown on my instructions), with orthopedic you need 4 sockets, total, back up assist and head rest needs "two way" 210 800 04 22 but should have ends on it. your seller should have included the bulletin MBNA 80/5
You could make something work

Thanks a lot, the part # for that 6-way is just what I needed.
MB was having a difficult time finding it.

*********************** did not include any bulliten.
Although if you have it handy, I wouldn't mind reading it. Thanks again.

When I went to order the 6-way, I asked them about this bulliten, and their reply at the Parts desk was, "I have no idea what this is." Maybe I should have asked at the Service desk.

Thanks.

Thumbs up

Fantastic...I was able to install the new pump, and find a leak which was in a manifold under the front passenger floor mat. This was the cause of the old pump burning out. (It really smelt awful).

When buying these new pumps, the above part number for the 6-way is key to this installation.

Thanks for your help.

The parts guys can be such idiots, I am glad you got it to work. The pump runs to provide pressure and vacuum to reservoirs, if you have a leak it will cause it to run quite a bit. The bulletin is very similar to (the one I could not send)

Central locking; late version, may require 6x couplings #202 800 02 53; models w/ adjustable headrest add 2x #124 805 02 44; models w/o reversing aid add 1x #210 800 00 53

i am buying a new pump and this is whats recommended for couplings by seller? do i need more? your list above shows more couplings. the pdf doesnt help much, is there a sketch showing how to hook up all these couplings..
