Anyone have any ideas where to look to solve this?
Problem: on occassion, about every 5-6 days, the power windows, sunroof, both power seats, and rear shade ALL STOP WORKING AT ONCE. Sometimes it is just after I've driven the car and shut it down and then restarted it a few mintues later. Any ideas on what the problem and how to solve it might be? I'm a new Benz 'Fan' but the above is a real irritant. Also, I do not have a factory manual as to how to operate certain features. As I recall once when I locked the car with the key the windows automatically closed except for about 2" gap on both rears. Obviously there is some sort of 'feature' on how you tun the key or hold it for a few seconds but I have not been able to duplicate that since. Anyone know what those 'features might be'? Appreciate any tech help on this. Regards, |

It's a very good idea to replace all the fuses every 10 years. Cheap. Order on line or get them at the dealer. If it were me I would also replace the strip fuse for the blower (cheap at dealer). This strip (ribbon ) fuse is located in the small black box just in front of the main fuse box.
Yes, the windows/sunroof close is a feature. I think you just hold the key in the lock position for X seconds. Sounds like your rear windows don't want to respond. '97 S320 116K '92 300E Sportline 242K |

Ghost-Fuses
I bought a set of COPPER replacement fuses from a company north of Seattle. The dealer fuses for my '87 and '95 124's have aluminum contacts. Very poor choice and a possible dissimilar metals problem. The copper fuses were reasonably priced. I got the info from this forum.
