W126 Climate Control Light bulb replacement

Hi!

I have a 1987 560SEL. The lights on the climate control recently stopped working. I know these are bulbs and not part of the fiberoptics in the dash.

Does anyone know how to change these bulbs?

Do you have to remove the climate control unit and open it up?

Thanks,

David

you need to take down the AC control unit and disassembnle them, light bulbs are located inside each button.

Remove the wood trim covering the push button assembly.
You will see two access holes in the front of the module where the bulbs are located (sometimes covered with aluminum foil tape).
I use a piece of heat shrink or other thin wall tubing of a size that tightly slides over the bulbs to pull them out.
