I am posting this on behalf of my uncle who will be moving to Tyler shortly. I take care of his '74 280 sedan for him currently but he's concerned that the dealer there will be the only place for him to go when he needs service/repair work. Anyone know of a reputable MB or European shop in or around Tyler?

TIA!

LarryB had posted a response to the effect that he did
not know any shops in Tyler. That post disappeared in the
"Black Wednesday" crash.

The Tyler dealer recently received a strong recommendation
here on MBshop. I'd say they are worth a try. You never
know, there may be an old German guy hanging around that
remembers the 114/115. It's worth checking out.

Other than that, shop around. Tyler is not that big a town.
On the plus side, it has a surprising amount of wealth - lots
of oil & timber money out in East Texas. Lots of folks drive
nice cars, so it seems likely there will be some good import
service shops.
