W124 Fuel pump, Filter, Accumulator

I'm getting ready to work in the fuel pump area of my 1991 300CE to change the fuel filter and accumulator. I'm a little nervous having never done it before. Any tips for working around here? I'm worried about pinching old brittle fuel lines to stop the flow of gas. What's the best tool to use here? In tightening everything back up with new crush washers, just tighten until there are no leaks? I have a set of regular wrenches and a set of flare wrenches. Do I remove the sleeve off the old filter and put it on the new filter?

Thanks for your help.
