Oh man you got me i'm so busted .

I'm am thinking of doing a pan,TC drain and filter replacement then refill with M1 multi ATF which is about $6 bucks a quart.

M1 ATF has a 100c viscosity of 7.6 vs the 6.3 of the 7G-tronic ATF.

Me being a thinner viscosity is better guy would like to use the MB 7G ATF however I am not paying $15 bucks a quart for it.If I could get it for $7.50 I would perhaps do it.

However,
I'll probably end up using Dexron VI instead as it backwords compatible with Dex III and has a 6cSt 100c viscosity like the MB stuff.

MBDOC was very emphatic in your prior threads that it is the additive pack in the MB fluids that make them different from off the shelf Dex 3 products.....

Your Dex 3 experiment you were so confident in failed in one week, and now you want to ignore that advice again for the second time in 2 weeks and try M1, another fluid which is not approved for the 722.6.

Just buy the proper MB fluid and filter and go on with life. It'll be cheaper in the long run than constant experiments and refills.

I am still waiting for my order of this fluid but they have not shipped yet. Once I receive, I'll tell you where to order.

The first place I ordered told me that they cannot ship fluids. The second place said they can ship ground. It has been two days and the status is still processing.

The price is about $6.50 per quart plus shipping of $10 per order. I ordered 13 liters of this plus a few liters for the self-leveling suspension (an even more expensive fluid) plus some other dry parts.

Failed?

Your joking right?

My car is shifting better than before wit over 1500 miles with the 9qts of $1.91 Supertech HM HFM ATF in it.

I don't call that a failure nor I don't live or die by MB's recommendation to line their pockets.

Just looking for a thinner ATF.

That fuid is only $7.75 per liter list.

Do not ask for 001-989-21-03-10 (this is the old but more expensive one)

Ask for 001-989-45-03-10 (this is the newer and cheaper one).

They might got confused with the oilder one.

Frankly the dealer parts people are like machines. I asked for the self-leveling fluid for W210 and they gave me the mineral one. Then I said it should be synthetic and made by Fuchs, they gave me the correct one for $35 per liter. The place I ordered was $16.50 per liter.

They did make a mistake on the hydraulic fluid.

BTW,isn't it funny that this new stuff is backwards compatible all the way to the Dexron III only 722.3 and 722.4 units.

If this stuff really had some "special" additive package for the newer clutch packs that Dex III would cause to burn up then it's likely the newer stuff would cause more slippage in a Dex III application like the 722.3 and 722.4 but I bet that is not the case.
