Some help folks, doesn't matter if my car is hot or cold as it shifts into what seems to second or third gear the engine rpm goes up and the trany catches and the car jerks
into gear. I though the trany fuild was low but it's right on the money. The car has 165000 mile. I cannot say where the last time the trany was serviced. Any ideas anyone? Does anyone know what type of trany fuild goes into this model year? |

2nd gear clunk
One possibility could be the vacuum line going to the trans/vacuum modulator from the engine may not be seated
snugly. The vac/mod resides on the drivers side of the transmission and is easily visible/accessible for inspection. The vacuum line travels from between the rear of the engine and the secondary firewall to the vac/mod. In the past my experience has lead me to this symptom and immediate fix. Good luck |

Could also be a worn out valve body in the trans.
