Question 1989 Mb 300sel Transmission Slipping

I Just Bought A 1989 300sel That All Of A Sudden The Transmission Seems To Be Slipping. I Was Driving Last Night On The Freeway And All Of A Sudden It Was Like The Cars Was In Nuetrual. I Pulled Over Put The Car In Park And Then Back In Drive And It Starting Shifting Like Normal. Any Ideas On What Might Be Going On?? Mercedes Is New To Me And I Am Stilling Waiting On A Shop Manual From Mercedes.
