Question Need Help With Wiring Loom On My C36 Amg

My wiring loom is one of those which suffers from the breakdown of all the wire insulation and ive had the whole thing off to re insulate it. I had labeled all wires but theres one which i cannot identify still and so far no one seems able to help me.

it comes out of the loom in the area of the 1st and 2nd injectors as you stand in front of the car and it must be about 3 foot long approx, under the black outer casing its a purple wire and (dont quote me on it) im sure it provides power to the air con fans, blower motor and possibly something to do with the idle as the engine now wants to idle at about 500rpm. This is the only wire/sensor that isnt connected and its definately not just an earth

Heres a small pic ive taken if it helps and if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be excellent

thanks[/IMG]
