E-Brake Cable adjustment on 2001 CLK430
Hello everybody!! I am working on a 2001 CLK 430 and I am replacing the parking brakes, rotors and pads. I am trying to find the cable adjustment for the rear emergency brakes. I belive its under the rear seat or the rear center console. Has anyone ever removed the rear seat in a 208 chassis and if so how do you do it? Thanks in advance

Those parking brakes ought to last about twenty years I bet. Why so soon? Was there a problem?

The brake rotors were seazed to the hub and the rotor had so much rust built up around the inner lip that I had no option but to force the rotor off with two prybars. I FOUND OUT LATER THAT THE CAR CAME FROM THE NEW YORK AREA!! Once I had the rotors off I saw that all the brake parts were rusted and seized into place.

Can't speak to the CLK, but on the 210 there are two finger latches under each side on the bottom cushion. The adjuster is under a sheet metal plate there. You relieve tension by rotating it while pushing forward.

Thanks guys for the help. I found the latch to be a round wire that is recessed under the cusion. You have to use something flat like a screw driver to release.
