1995 E320 Dtc 10

I have a California 1995 E320 Cabriolet that has just recently been giving me a DTC 10. I understand that code 10 does not apply to the 1995 E320 except perhaps for California emissions requirements. The engine runs fine except for an occasional surge at idle when it is at operating temperature. When I clear the code, it returns after 2 engine run / stop cycles (as it is suppose to). I would appreciate any advise / directions. Thanks!

Can we assume you are getting this code from the DM? That is, from the pushbutton and LED? If so code 10 is for air mass sensor, for CA and non-CA cars. It would appear your air mass sensor is going bad. You could try cleaning it. Try a search - lots of information.
