S500 All 4 of the seats inflatable cushions dont work
My S500 recently blew its airpump located in the drivers side rear fender. I replaced it and now everything on the vacuum system works great except the mulitcontour seats (lumbar, sides) which inflate. Even the back ones dont work. I suspect a common fuse or relay? The fuse/relay chart didnt list the contour seats.. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Dave |

The lumbars are driven off the locking pump, under the rear seat! the pump runs and builds pressure, but if there is a leak it will time out

Peter I removed the rear bottom seats and saw no air pump. I only saw vacuum hoses going from rear lumbar controls and other lines going to the trunk pump. Is there a second pump. Thanks Dave

Dave, it's under the passenger side rear seat mounted in a fitted cutout. Since all lumbar supports are out, it's probably the pump??

Well, I guess the MAIN question should have been asked . . . . (actually YOU should have mentioned the YEAR and MODEL in your FIRST post) . . what year and model???
In any post, it's a good thing to do . . . lot of wasted time/space isn't it?? Maybe the first clue was "driver's side rear fender". . . for W140 (C140), that pump is located in the trunk behind the facade. |
