1996 E 320 stop light not working

Stop lights for my 1996 E 320 are not working. Fuse and bulbs are in working order. What else can be the problem?

Check the brake light switch and then the illumination module. The switch input goes to the module and the light are each wired individually from the module.

Thanks to tips from this forum, I did the brake light switch on my '98 E300 a week or so ago. Cost $17 from the dealer and took me half an hour or so to do the job. If that's your problem, it won't be tough at all.

Cheers, John

Above the brakepedal.
You'll have to remove the sound insulation panel ( 3 or 4 screws ), above your feet.
When you get the switch removed, push & pull the plunger, to see if it sticks( in ).
