xenon light work without any upgraded wires???

Okay I am officialy clueless. I have a 99 E 300 TD and want to upgrade to xenons. I bought a set of used oe xenon lights off of ebay and just for giggles plugged them in and to my suprise they lit up and no error message.

What is going on and should I be worried about a fire?????? Everything in the car is stock and it is non-xenon. Please let me now... Thanks
