560sec Oil Change Question
Hi All -
I'm relatively new to the DIY effort - 1991 560SEC 72k miles - last oil change by mechanic used Delo 400 - I picked up some Delo 400 LE(low emission) 15-40 at costco and a Wix filter to do the job - does this sound ok or am I wrong with this oil/filter selection- Location is southern CA. - I tried searching the web to get info on both this oil and filter specific to the 560SEC without luck - maybe that should have told me something?? Thanks for your help!! Carp |

you'll be just fine. the only caveat, and i say this because i've never put a Wix oil filter in a MBZ, is to make sure the filter kit comes with the o-ring and necessary crush washers.
Mann, Mahle, Bosch, and Hengst oil filter kits come with all of the above.

15W-40 oil
The 15W-40 oil is a "universal" oil, used all over the world in both gas and diesel cars. I used the previous iteration of Delo (non-Low emission) in my 420SEL, which has a similar engine to yours, and have used it in my W202's 4-cylinder.
Wix is also a good filter, though Ozawa is right about ensuring it comes with the crush washer and the rubber o-ring gasket for the filter housing lid. Certainly the Wix I've used on occasion for my W202 came with the o-ring.
