Tempmatic Feedback Potentiometer

I just spent most of the day under the dash of my 1987 190D 2.5 n/a. I replaced all the vacuum actuators and the feedback pot. I have a problem though, I cannot get the 2.7 to 2.9v at the pot. the book calls for. I have run out of adjustment, the spring-loaded screw is backed out all the way. As you may recall, the spec changed in 1987 from 3.9 to 4.4v. per the factory Tempmatic manual. Anyone ever run into this before? Any ideas? I think Steve B. had a Bridge he built to bypass the pot signal, anyone tried it? BTW the PBU, Klima and more was replaced as well....thanks!
