Sigh of relief!.. Just had the benz retested and it passed with flying colors. The NOx which when last tested blew a 2.69 with a legal limit of 2.50, now passed with a 1.33!!! All I did was pour a container of GTP in the tank, ran it hard for the entire tank full, then refilled and had her tested. Thanks for all your imput...yadayadayada!!

Very good..
These engine actually prefer to be worked..it is a good practise to use a lower gear range for a few miles once in a while to keep these parts clean and the engine breathing well. Specally if you do much around town/ low rpm use. Some call it the "Italian Tune-up" |

Thanks. Has anyone else had any experience using this product? Sounds like it had some significant beneficial effects for trojadc.

It was my first time ever trying it. A friend of mine recommended it. He had a daughter about ten years ago with a car that was older, but with low miles. He tried it(after it had failed for emissions in Massachusetts) and it worked as well. So I guess it has been around for a while. I bought it at an Autozone store here in the Northeast. I asked the 'older' gent that worked there if it really worked. While he said he does know that much about it, he did say it is a big seller, and no one ever comes back to complain. For what it is worth.
Regards Andy

GTP is a fuel system cleaner additive. Will clear out dirty injectors and lines , but cat and 02 sensor clearing is best done with a good rpm run UNDER LOAD to heat the exhaust to max temp.. A fuel additive does not/will not do that..
All the large, premium quality petro companies formulas use enough detergent additives for modern day FI systems.. Chevron's Techron is a good one..just try to always gas up at high volume stations... If one has a dirty fuel system , a good cleaning will certainly help fouling injectors, but in your case, I would bet the run did more to pass your test than the fuel additive did.. Regardless ..at least you got it done w/o having to deal with a big $$$ solution. |

Or in my case, in Massachusetts I stood right by the computer and printer, during the entire test... and waited to hear the sound of the printer and the ink it was putting down.. If you don't hear a lot of ink being applied to the sticker, then you know you are sunk.. in the middle of the sticker will be a large square empty spot where the apply the separate "R" for reject. If it passes, the printer will be busy inking down the number 6 corresponding to the month it was tested and passed. I got to hear that happy printer inking up my sticker for the first time in three attempts!.. Yes they were kind enough to allow we to be right in the "delivery room" and not leave me to wonder in the waiting room on the outcome!
