Ihave a 1989 560SEL and the engine oil level light is on all the time. I've been told you have to pull the engine to replace this sensor. Is there a way to disconnect the light on the dash, or correct the problem without pulling the engine? This is not a big deal, but itis (for me) frustrating to have this idiot light on all the time. I can check the oil level with the dipstick just fine ...Mark

Replacement of the oil level sensor is 1.4 hrs on a 560SEL. Only the oil sub-pan has to be removed! Part number is 126-545-08-17 & has a list price of $53.
