My 1995 c180 has started making a strange noise occassionally when the engine is toiling.

Best way to describe it is like a plastic bag flapping in the wind. It is coming from under the bonnet.

It happens sometime going uphill at low speeds if the car is still in top gear. If I kick it down a gear it disappears.

Any ideas what it might be?
