W124 self-levelling hose fitting info ?
My self-levelling high-pressure hose is leaking, and instead of purchasing the Mercedes part (almost $200), I'd like to have my local hydraullic shop make one with industrial Aeroquip hose & fittings.
Before I take off the hose, does anyone happen to know the fitting size/specifics on both ends ? TIA, :-) neil |

You need to take the hose to the hydraulic shop. They will probably use your old fittings and renew the hose part.

FWIW, I had an Aeroquip hydraullic line made locally for $85 and with an 1.5-hrs. wait.
The hose is reinforced with a fabric-weave, and also covered in a spiral-plastic sheath for added abrasion resistance. The hose chosen can take continuous heat of 300-F, unlike the stock rubber hose. They (Trident Supply) took off my connectors and brazed-them onto hydraullic compression fittings which in the future will allow me to just change-out the hose . :-) neil Last edited by ke6dcj; 08-12-2007 at 11:10 PM. |
