03' E320 SRS indicator on
My 03' E320 with about 60K on the clock and just back from a 60K dealer service a couple of weeks ago had the SRS light illuminate yesterday. Any thoughts on what this malfunction could be? Relay? Airbag? Any help is appreciated. Is there any DIY I can do before I have to go back to the dealer? Thanks.

You might try replacing the brake lamp switch. If you do, be sure to get one from the dealer.

It could be a number of airbag-related faults, but my bet is on the passenger seat sensor. What work did the dealer do anyway?
Clearing the fault requires a special scanner that good independents also have.

It's interesting that you mention the brake lamp switch. I have had the third brake light failure indicator come on from time to time since I bought this car about a year ago. It seems to "fix itself" and then the third brake light will function again. As far as what the dealer did at the 60K service-mostly fluid changes, i.e., brake, cooling, power steering, and an oil change. They also replaced the fuel filter which was a pricey labor and part component. They replaced the cabin filter, too. I installed new plugs, air filters and wipers myself, prior to taking the car in for the 60K fleecing. I don't know why they would have been around the pasenger seat except to move it back to get to the cabin filter. I need to find a new independent since the guy I used to go to for my '98 E320 is not longer in business. Anyway, I appreciate the reponses and the input. Thanks.
