Drivers door won't lock with key or button

My W124 drrivers door opens even though you lock it with the key, all the other doors lock, and the drivers door button goes down. It will open from the outside even if you push the button down from inside. I took the door apart and saw that all the linkages are where they should be. The lock button goes through it's full travel. What am I missing? Since I was playing with it now the alarm is intermittent and sometimes does not go off if you open the door when it's locked. Even tried to lock it from the trunk and you can still open the drivers door. Help.

Come on, a guy asks about which shocks are firm and gets 40 replies. Does anyone know how to fix anything or do we just give opinions. I have 3 threads on how to fix something and none are answered.
