300E, Best spark plugs, rotor & dist. cap?

I need to replace the spark plugs on my recently acquired 1990 300E 3.0L. I have heard that platinum plugs are NOT recommend for the 300E. Any truth? What # Bosch plugs do most people use?
Also i checked into the rotor and distributor cap at my local NAPA store and the price seemed unreal?! The quote was $90 for the cap and $33 for the rotor. Those prices were based on a discount IF I qualified. Are those prices pretty common for those plastic parts? What brands seem to work best?

Forget buying almost anything from NAPA or AUTOZONE or ADVANCED AUTO PARTS, etc. These guys rape you for anything Mercedes.

Go with someone like www.peachparts.com; www.germanimportedparts.com; or www.pelicanparts.com

You can get the parts for half the price, even after you pay to overnight them !!!

Amen to that!

Autozone sells an "F" grade line of Bosch parts that are terrible. Dealer Bosch parts or parts from some WEB sellers that specialize in euro cars are much better..

Look in the top left corner of this page & you'll see they are not resistor plugs.
