Cruise COntrol Control

I have a 1985 mercedes 190E 2.3 liter. When we got the car, it had unexplained self acceleration above 20 mph which stopped on the slightest tap of the brake. We traced it to a cruise control problem. Interestingly enough, the cruious control control arm was missing and was stuck in an/accelerate mode. We stuck a hex key into the slot and turned it off.

Does anybody know if this is an individual part (i.e., i can go to a junk yard and pull a replacement) or is it part of a larger assembly that may require more work?

I recent took my steering wheel apart, well actually I took the dashboard off.

The cruise control control is part of the turn signal/wiper control assembly.
You can get one at a junk yard. However, soak it down with WD40 to clean out the dust, dirt and grease before installing it.

Good luck
